I recently bought a Blue Yeti USB microphone, which I love, but I am having problems with my sound playback.

I recently bought a Blue Yeti USB microphone, which I love, but I am having problems with my sound. I have had problems with audio not playing before and fixed it, but once I plug in the microphone my audio randomly doesn't work. Sometimes it will play through the device I select, but sometimes it will play through the speakers and not through the headphones connected to my microphone even when I select Blue Yeti as the output device. Sometimes it will only play through the microphone even when I select the speakers as the output device. And sometimes the audio won't play at all. Youtube videos will play but I can't hear any sound. This continues happening even after I unplug my microphone. I have tried updating the sound drivers and using troubleshoot on all the sound devices. Another interesting thing is that when I try to test the speakers it says "Device is being used by an open app" or something like that when I am not using it. I have Windows 10.

Hi LeahNajimy,

May I know what is the make and model of your PC? If you are using a custom built PC, may I know the Motherboard make and model?

In the mean time, try to also re-install the Audio Driver in Device Manager.

- Press Windows + X, select Device Manager
- Click View > Show hidden devices
- Expand "Audio inputs & outputs" category
- Uninstall all Speaker Device Drivers
- Click Action > Scan for hardware changes
- Reboot the device
- Test if the issue is resolved

If the issue still persist, please reply back with the make and model.

Sincerely,
Lee

I see that there are many variation os Acer Spin 3 (SP111-31, SP111-31N, SP111-32N, SP111-33, SP111-34N, . . . etc.). Do you know the exact Model?

If not, kindly locate the Serial Number or SNID usually at the bottom of the device for me to get the correct driver applicable for the exact model.

Hello,

I followed your instructions and here is what happened:

the Serial IO driver said it was not supported, but the others successfully installed and now my headphone jack is not working at all. Usually, when I plug in headphones it asks if they are headphones, mic-in, line-in, or speaker out. Not only does it no longer do that, but it will not play through the headphones and only through the speakers. I tried restarting it twice.

Please help me fix this. Thanks.

Not supported? May I please have the serial number of your PC instead to locate the exact driver for that unit?

Also, I apparently didn't have the newest version of Windows and am now updating to Windows 10 version 1909. I don't know if this will make a difference

Yes please, Windows Update also comes with Driver Update. Keep me posted how it goes. I'll get back with your shortly, thank you for the additional information. Don't worry I will be with you until we get this resolved. If the update did not solve it, leave me a reply and I will provide you the next step.

Hello!

So I installed the updated version and at first, it said there was no audio device installed. So I went back to updates and there were "optional additional updates"; I clicked that and it installed an audio driver and now my speakers are working as well as my headphone jack. However, when I plug in headphones it no longer asks me whether I have plugged in headphones, mic-in, line-in, etc. Is this because of the updates? Thank you for your patience
