I received a suspicious email purporting to be from One Drive

Today I received an email from OneDrive <*** Email address is removed for privacy ***>. The message said, "Look back on your memories from this day." This email contained images of photos from my One Drive Backup. I was afraid, so I did not allow Thunderbird to unblock remote access to this email message, and I immediately deleted the email. My question is how did someone gain access to my cloud documents and publish on the internet? What and how much do I need to be afraid of? What can I do to protect myself.😟

Hi,

I believe that's not a fake, but a genuine mail from OneDrive. It basically sends you a mail which links to photos backed up in your OneDrive account on the same date of previous years.

If you can, please post a screenshot of that mail here, and someone can check if it's fake or not.

Stranger_Hanyo. You say it is from One Drive, the other responder said it is a scam. WHICH ONE IS IT? I don't know how to remove my email address from the screenshot, otherwise I could post it here. If you are correct, then how does One Drive get access to my private documents? Documents are supposed to be safe on One Drive.

Horace Wiggins, Why would Microsoft steal my documents from the cloud and expose them on the internet?? That seems very doubtful. And very scary.
