I can’t sign in to my Microsoft account.

I can’t sign into my computer. At the sign in screen I enter my password and it sends me to another screen that says I have unusual activity on my account. It sends me to another screen to verify my identity and change my password. When I get to that screen it prompts me to enter the last four digits of the phone linked to my account. I don’t recognize the number and will not let me replace it.

Hello, Jim Holle.

Welcome to Microsoft Community!

If you receive an alert indicating unusual activity on your account and you are asked to provide a cell phone number you do not recognize when you try to change your password. These situations may mean that your account has been stolen by a villain.

Villains who have logged into your Microsoft account elsewhere and tied it to another cell phone number can cause you to experience this situation.

For the current situation, please refer to the following link immediately to do something about your Microsoft Account:

At the same time, we do not exclude that your account may have been locked due to an unusual login. You may also refer to the following:

Burglars are very hateful. These are the things we can still do at the moment.

I hope you stay safe.

Best Regards.
