I can't move nor extract .exe files

I'm unable to move .exe files from a .zip into other location as they don't get moved.

If i do it from the administrator account they get moved without any issue and stay on my other account, i have tried to enable admin privileges on my account but it seems like i did something wrong.

If the answer is yes, you can through the user with administrator permissions follow the steps below:

1. Access the user with administrator permissions.
2. On the Desktop, simultaneously press the Windows + R keys to open 3. Run.
In the Run type netplwiz and click OK;
4. Click the name of your user who is not an administrator, then click Properties.
5. Click the Group Membership tab, check the Administrator option, click Apply and OK.
6. Restart the computer, login to your user and verify that you are now able to perform the tasks as an administrator.

I await news.

Hello Paloma, thank you for your quick answer.

I did already add the user to the administrator group in the past and the issue is still there

I can move the exe files from the administrador session, not with my personal session.

Hello again!

So, good or bad news, depends on how you wanna look at it!

I have created a new user with admin privileges and it works fine!

Now, is there any way to check on why my personal user is unable to transfer the .exe files?

I don't get windows defender notifications or anything like that when i try to move .exe files on my user.

Would it be better to just create a new user? If so, is there some way to move EVERYTHING from my personal user to the new one?

Thank you very much for your help Paloma.

Unfortunately we were unable to identify exactly where it was affected, most likely your user is corrupted, so you are not inheriting administrator permissions.

In this case, the best option is to create a new user and migrate the data.

But the only option to migrate is by copying files from the old user folder to the new one.

1. Press the Windows + E keys to open File Explorer;

2. In File Explorer, select "This Computer" in the left column;

3. In "This Computer", select "WIndows (C:)";

4. Among the folders presented, select the "Users" folder;

5. Accessing the "Users" folder, select and access the folder with the name of your old account;

6. Open the folders inside the folder with the name of your old account, and copy the files to your new account.

Important: You must OPEN FOLDERS in your old account and COPY THE FILES to the new account, there is no use trying to copy the folders.

After migrating your data, delete your previous user:

7. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run window, type

netplwiz

and click OK;

8. Select your previous user and click Remove.

I await news.
