I Cant install Apps to my D Drive

I can set it to my E and F drives but theres no space on my E Drive and my F drive will download but it will always end in this error

I cant reformat my D Drive as I have too much on there I would loose, however I can do it to my E and F drive if needed.

Anyone know how I can fix this so i can download the game?

Hi, I'm Benedict, an Independent Advisor. I'm here to help you.

Please open your drive D: in File explorer and see if there is a folder named "WindowsApps" (that folder is usually hidden so make sure to check the option Show hidden items in the View tab). If so, try deleting it or if you can't delete it, try renaming it. If you have successfully done that, see if you could now set the said drive as location for your new apps.

Please see if that helps.

Regards,
Benedict P.

there is one in my D: drive and there is also one in my C: and F: drives, renamed it and trying now

Remaning the folder in D: drive got the same error, and a new folder.

Edit: just check properties for size and its empty, looking in the folder and theres nothing in it.

After renaming that folder, try to delete it again. And if you can't still delete it, then try the other steps mentioned in this link: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-delete-windo...

Okay, I see. Please try to boot in Safe mode and see if you can delete that folder from there.

To boot in Safe mode, follow the steps here: https://support.microsoft.com/windows/92c27cff-...

If you have deleted the said folder in drive D:, try restarting your computer to exit from Safe mode and see if you can now set the drive D: as location for your new apps. The WindowsApps folder in your system drive C: should not be deleted or renamed for it will cause issues for your installed Microsoft apps.

I see. I'm sorry to hear that. And I'm really sorry if the solutions I provided could not help. I've run out of ideas, maybe someone else here in the community will have a solution for you. Again, I do apologize for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Hi,
My name is Igor, I'm Independent Advisor. I have 12 Microsoft MVP awards. It's a pleasure for me to help others and I'll do all my best to help you.

Run command prompt as administrator and run the command below. Do not miss spaces between options.
takeown /f d:\* /r /d y
If the command will not help you'll need to reformat a drive. Do not forget to keep the data you need.
