I can't connect to wifi, missing properties in network adapter

Hello

Before, my laptop worked perfectly well, able to connect any of the 2.4GHz or 5GHz wifi. These past few weeks my laptop seems not to be able to detect the 5GHz wifi though it is still present in my known networks. I know there is nothing wrong with the router as the 5GHz connection appears in other laptops and PCs. It puzzled me even more when 5GHz wifi from my neighbor can be detected in the wifi bar but mine is not.

Then what worse is I can't connect to the 2.4GHz wifi either though it appears in the wifi bar. Every time I tried to connect and enter password, "Can't connect to this network" would appear.

For now, I only can use hotspot from my phone which is quite inconvenient.

I've checked my wireless adapter, mine is [Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter]

I've tried all of the steps I found online but I don't find the properties of my network adapter like the others. In others' I saw online have multiple options in the "Advanced" bar but I only have three options which are:

1. D0 PacketCoalescing

2. Network Address

3. Roaming Aggressiveness

The option needed to fix the problem is not even there like:

- 802.11n mode

- Preferred Band

(These options do not appear in the "Advanced" tab.)

Plus, this my radio type: [802.11b 802.11a 802.11g 802.11n 802.11ac]

Based on what I read online, this type is able to support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bandwidth.

I guess it doesn't work?? since I can't connect to neither.

When I tried to update the driver, It said that my driver is up to date.

So, now I don't know what to do. Please help. Thank you.

Hi, Wan

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

The problem you are experiencing with your laptop's wireless adapter not detecting a 5GHz network and not being able to connect to a 2.4GHz network could be due to a number of reasons, have you made any changes to your system before the problem occurred? For example, installing other software or updating the Bios?

From your description, it seems that there may be a problem with your network adapter driver, we suggest that you can visit your computer manufacturer's official website, download the driver for Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 wireless network adapter, install it and try again.

Then please try the following programs:

I. Reset the network

1. Search CMD, open and find the command prompt (, to run in administrator) mode

2. In the pop-up command box, enter the following commands in turn (each line after the completion of the run enter the next one)

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
netsh winhttp reset proxy

3. Restart the computer to see if the problem can be solved.

Reset network settings

Tap windows+R, type inetcpl.cpl, open Internet Options, click Advanced, and check “Use SSL 3.0” and “Use TLS 1.0”, “Use TLS 1.1”, ‘Use TLS 1.2’, reboot the computer after the application to see if the problem can be solved.

Reset Proxy Server Settings

Tap windows+R, type inetcpl.cpl, open Internet Options, click Connections, tap LAN Settings, check whether the Proxy Server column is checked, if so, uncheck it and tap OK, restart your computer after applying it to see if it can solve the problem.

Through my query, not being able to connect to WiFi is a frequent hardware issue with Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377, if you can't solve the problem after trying the above options, you can also consult your computer manufacturer's after-sales support.

If you have any progress, you are welcome to anxi us anytime.

Best Regards
