I cannot download anything to my company PC

Hi,

I came in to the office today and could not log in to my computer. It was always saying my password is incorrect. I reset, changed my password but nothing happened. I contacted my company admin and were able to reset my PC.

Now, I logged in to my computer with a fresh start. But anytime I try to download again the needed applications to my PC it says I need admin permission, knowing that my user is the only user registered on the PC and anytime I enter username & password, it says :

"Requested operation requires elevation"

The same happens when I try to change anything in the PC settings that requires Admin permission

It sounds like your account is a Standard user and not an Administrator user. Have you checked again with the company IT as that is something that they may control.

I checked, there is no other user assigned to the PC, IT even tried logging with their email (they are also the company administrator) and same thing.

In Windows 11 there is the option to repair using Settings > System > Recovery > Fix problems using windows update. There is a chance though it will require an admin privilege.

The only other option is a clean install.

Still can't do so, it needs admin permission.

I thought it might.

If your IT dept. don't have a resolution then a clean install is the only other option I can think of.
