Hi bhawna
Greetings! I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. I am here to work with you on this problem.

There is a good HP guide for ejecting CDs

HP Desktop PCs - Opening a Stuck CD or DVD Drive Tray (Windows 10, 8) - https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03302287

Do let me know if you require any further help on this. Will be glad to help you.

There should be a small hole on the front of the drive. Straighten a paper clip and insert it into that hole. Press it and the door should slide open.

Hi bhawna

My name is Andre Da Costa; an Independent Consultant, Windows Insider MVP and Windows & Devices for IT MVP. I'm here to help you with your problem.

Get a paper clip, straighten it out, then insert it into the hole on the front of the drive.

Make sure the computer is powered off. This should manually eject the drive, so you can pull it out and remove the disc.
Best regards,

Hi Bhwana. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP here to help you.

If the disk is jammed in keeping the door from opening and sliding out, you can pull it open and stick a tweezers inside to gently pull the dvd out.

Some optical drives have a hole all you do is stick a paper clip in the hole and the door will open. I did this earlier today. I had to make hardware change to my PC and it would not reboot. I chose the option that loaded like safe mode an .iso format with all but two programs installed on my PC. I need to reset windows 10 so the PC can reinstall everything. Can anybody give me some advice?

Hi bhawna

Please try this:

Turn off your PC

Then turn on your PC and as Windows is booting up, repeatedly press the Eject button until the tray opens
