I am getting a message to activate windows. Why and how I do that?

I have a message on my screen that I need to activate windows. Why and how I do that. I bought the Laptop with activated Window 10. I do not have a CD to re-activate. What should I do?

In Windows 10:

Press Windows key + X

Click Windows PowerShell (admin)

Enter the following command:

wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey

Hit Enter

The product key will be revealed, copy the product key then enter it

Click Start > Settings > Update & security > Activation > Change the product key then enter the new product key then click Next to Activate

If you are unable to activate Windows 10 after all the above and you are certain you have the correct edition installed, then please attempt chat support:

To better diagnose the issue,
Right click Start>Command Prompt-Admin and type in the following command:
slmgr.vbs /dlv
If you have Powershell instead of Command Prompt Run these in order:
cmd.exe
slmgr.vbs /dlv
You will get a window, take a screenshot using snipping tool and paste it it next reply.
