hp smart installations issues.

I have a HP DeskJet Plus 4100 All-In-One printer. I have already set it up before on my HP laptop with windows 10 from the microsoft store, but hp smart started to not work right so i uninstalled it. I recently had windows 10 update to win10 20H2 and now when i try to re-install HP Smart from the MS it stops the process giving me code: 0x80073CFB. I dont know how to troubleshoot the issue, I've already tried a few different things. Can I install the HP Smart App without going through the MS?

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you’re facing issues with downloading HP Smart app from Microsoft Store, and I certainly appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue.

We will certainly look into this for you.

For further clarity on the issue, please respond to the questions below:

  1. Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently?

  2. Are you aware of any changes made to the PC prior to which you weren’t facing this issue?

Refer the article Which version of Windows operating system am I running?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and see if that helps.

Method 1: Re-register Microsoft Store

Run the PowerShell command to re-register store.

  1. Press Windows + X keys together and click on Windows PowerShell (Admin).

  2. Now type in the command and hit enter: Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\\AppXManifest.xml”}

  3. Restart the PC.

Method 2: Test in new user account

Create a new user account and check if you’re able to use Microsoft Store normally. Refer the article Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10
