HP Printer only printing partial pages and skipping lines Windows 10

I cannot get my printer to print full pages. It skips lines randomly throughout the document. HP Envy 4520. This started happening after my router (Asus) went out and had to use the old router (Netgear). It was working before this. I have tried all the usual TS, i.e reinstall driver Start and Stop spooling, disabled firewall, tried with USB hardwired and wireless. Installed basic driver, installed full HP suite. Firmware is up to date. The test page prints just fine and the copier works as well but whenever I try and print a Word document, PDF or a web page, I only get some of the lines and not the full text.

After contacting HP and doing the steps I have mentioned above again, they said it was an issue with my PC. I checked event logs and noticed that there were errors and there were a lot of drivers that were disabled in msinfo32.exe. After a full reset of the PC, ran windows updates and have McAfee installed and updated, I reinstalled the Printer and it still is printing partial pages. Please HELP!!

Printer: HP Envy 4520 All-in-One

PC: Acer Aspire E5-774G

Intel Core i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.70 GHz

8GB Ram

64-bit Win 10

Thank you for the quick response. Unfortunately this did not correct the issue. The page is still coming out with skipped lines and missing text. Any other suggestions?

If you can, try using a different computer (laptop) to print some test pages from word etc. I expect that to work.

Sounds like you have taken all of the reasonable trouble shooting steps.

At this point I suggest you document the situation as best as possible: computer make & model, Windows version and build numbers, Office version and build numbers, printer driver version. Describe all of the trouble shooting steps you have taken (copy above description, maybe expand on it). Put all of the info into a Word document and save it to your OneDrive. Get a Share / Edit link to the onedrive file. Submit a Feeback to MS with all of the information including the link to your documentation file in OneDrive. Before you submit the feedback, go into Settings and enable "full" diagnostics. Then create the feedback and turn on the option to submit diagnostics.

The only remaining workaround I can suggest is to do a "retrograde upgrade" to Windows Version 1709, and block update to 1803 until you hear the problem has been fixed.

I am currently running Windows 10 - 1803 (OS Build 17134.1) 64-bit - I'm not sure what the previous version was. (Windows 10 ????)

Acer Aspire E5-774G (Laptop)

I also just tried printing on an older machine I had and it is doing the exact same thing - Windows 8.1  Version 6.3 (build 9600) 64-bit

ASUS X551M (Laptop)

As Rohn007 suggested above, maybe its an issue with windows updates? Something changed......

Unfortunately, you will have to perform a new install. This appears to be a serious bug many are encountering with the new version of Windows 10.

I am going to recommend you downgrade to Windows 10 1703.

Yes, not the best news you want to hear. These feature updates are not thoroughly engineered and are rushed mostly to meet deadlines. They have become highly unnecessary in some instances. My opinion, focus on the apps and less on having the latest version of Windows. If your apps are working fine and you are getting your work done, minimize your need to jump on the latest release.

Now, get ready to go back to your previous version. I recommend Windows 10 1703 because its the most stable and efficient release to date.

Step 1: Go to another working computer with Internet access, download Windows 10 1703 from the following link:
https://tb.rg-adguard.net/index.php?sid=74a7cf5...

Choose the following:

- Windows Final
- Windows 10, version 1703
- Windows 10 Pro + Home
- English
- x64 (64 bit) x32 (32 bit)

Step 2: create a bootable copy
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wik...

Step 3: perform a custom install

Step 4: how to recover your files from Windows.old:

Windows Update might attempt to upgrade to Windows 10 1803 again. See instructions how to block it:

Thank you again for your response :-) At this point there is no guarantee that a downgrade or retrograde will fix this issue and I have already invested too much time on this little "Bug". I will continue to pay 16 cents to use the printer at OfficeMax.

Good Luck to anyone having this issue.....Have a great Day!!!
