How to unsync laptop and pc desktops?

So I have 2 computers, 1 a pc the other a laptop both running windows 10 and they’re both linked to my Microsoft account. Note I want to keep this because it makes me feel like it’s still saving the data across the 2 pcs where ever I’m at. But continuing after I linked my accounts all my apps on the desktop of my pc went directly to my laptop only I can’t access them, not only that when ever I delete it from my laptop it deletes it from my pc how do i stop this? I tried turning off syncing but I want to keep the “accounts, WiFi networks and passwords” setting on across both but if I try leaving it “on” on my laptop it turned everything off to on again? And one drive makes no sense on there setting and I don’t see the setting to handle it in the Microsoft settings or computer settings either. So how do I keep the account on both while not effecting the desktop on either one when I delete an app?

Hello,

Before we get to the steps to change anything, can you verify the end goal you hope to get to?

Confirm if these are the results you want:

1. Keep files synced to both computers.

2. Sync settings (such as Wifi network and password, etc.)

3. Do not want to sync programs/apps shortcuts on the desktop.

Does that sum up correctly?

I’m looking to keep my Microsoft account linked from my pc and my laptop but I don’t want it to have any direct connection to each others desktop or install files into each other. When I first linked my Microsoft account it downloaded all the apps on my pc (except I couldn’t open any of them) and when I delete it from my laptop it deletes it from the pc. I want it save simple data (passwords, WiFi, ect.) between the 2 and not have any direct connection to each other than that like effecting one another others desktop

Got it. Then you need to do this on both computers.

Right click on the OneDrive cloud icon on the lower right, go to SEttings > Sync and backup tab > Manage folders.

Turn all of the folders.

Do this on both computers.

Restart the computer after that.
