How to switch graphics card on a Sony VAIO VPCCA16FG

My Sony VAIO (VPCCA16FG) runs a windows 8 Pro x64 Bit (right now, after upgrading from Windows 7).
Everything seems to work fine except for the switchable graphics which I am having a whole lot of problems with. Since I use this computer for gaming (mostly), games such as League of Legends etc. are running very slowly on my Intel Graphics card. So I thought, I'll just switch to my AMD Radeon 6600-6700 Graphics card but I couldn't. After upgrading, I stopped getting the option of switching my graphics card anymore. Furthermore, after tinkering with it and installing drivers, my battery recognition started acting up. It started telling me that the battery was not inserted anymore (or not installed if you will). It is starting to become a mess, the Sony website compatibility program said that my laptop would be compatible with windows 8. Apparently not. Heavy duty games such as Cities XL started to make my laptop overheat (from what i think is because i can't switch my graphics card to the more powerful one).

I really need help on this please.

Cheers.

They simply said that they did not want to damage my graphics and monitor so they suggested that I revert my laptop back to windows 7..

Well, traditionally what happens with switchable gfx cards is that the main one is the one working and people complain that their battery life sucks and the laptop overheats because they can't switch to the lower performance card.

if your laptop is overheating in games, that shouldn't point to the fact that it is using the underpowered card, i would assume the complete opposite. Why would the energy saving card be overheating? Why would the more powerful one produce less heat?

This page seems to have lots of download stuff for w8 upgrades. Did you install the utilities and drivers found here?

True. It was just an assumption anyway. Point is, the programs wont work at 30 fps or higher which is kind of bothering me. I've seen and downloaded a VAIO update tool for windows 8 so it will download the necessary drivers etc. for me. If not, I could always go back to it. It however, did not fix the switchable graphics problem yet. I'll continue asking around though.
