How to revert to previous user account?

Yesterday I tried to create an extra e-mail address on my user account but instead created a new user account. Now when I turn on the computer the initial screen is the standard green field/blue sky with the basic preset icons.  I can access my e-mail and the internet however, other things, such as the windows media player are empty: all the music we have downloaded to the player have gone! I have tried using the system restore but that has not made any difference even though I pressed to restore the system to two days ago.
I hope someone out there has an idea!

Hello jnkwc

If you created another User Account you should still be able to see the old one.

Can you see it in Documents and settings?

e.g.  Documents and Settings\username

OR

Does it appear in Control Panel/User Accounts?

If it is there you can make it appear on the Welcome screen

1.    Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click User Accounts.

2.    Click Change the way users log on or off.

3.    Click to select the Use the Welcome screen for fast and easy logon check box.

4.    Click OK.
