How to restore an icon that has been removedfrom my desktop in Windows 10

Last month a guest in my home used my computer to check her emails and in the process accidently deleted/removed my AOL version 9.81 icon. It isn't in my recycle bin and I can't find AOL listed in my control panel under programs. The Windows store only offers AOL Gold...which I don't want. Is it possible that the deleted icon still resides somewhere on my computer? BTW: I have recently learned my lesson and created a restore point but that won't do me any good at this point.

Thanks for any help you may pass along

Ed

Hello Ed, I'm Didi, an independent advisor.

First click on the Start button and type "AOL" to see if it can find your AOL 9.81. If it finds it right-click on the result, click "Open file location", right-click on the executable / shortcut and click "Send to" > "Desktop".

If you can't find it from the Start menu open File Explorer and check if you can find your AOL folder in C:\, C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86). If you find it try to find the executable file that opens AOL 9.81 and right-click on it > Send to > Desktop.

If you can't find the AOL folder use the search bar in File Explorer to find it. Make a search in your whole computer using the keyword "AOL".

Regards,
Didi
