How to remove a passkey when one wasn't set up

I'm being asked to enter my passkey when linking up my husbands Computer with my laptop (to use Microsoft word) and it's asking for a passkey. I have not set one up and when i go into the security settings to turn it off it doesn't even come up with an option to turn it off like I've seen online.
It's becoming really frustrating as what I thought would be easier to do on a computer has now took me 1hour of messing and still not sorted it.
I have tried resetting my account and logging out of everything, it also doesn't give me the option to turn off Windows Hello.

Please help before I throw this computer out the window.

Hello Kerrie,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I can fully understand your feelings facing with such situation. Could you give me some further information on what you want to do, or what you are referring to by "linking up my husbands Computer with my laptop"? Do you mean a remote access? In the pop up window where you are asked to enter a password and account, enter the account of your current Windows User account name, and if you haven't set a password for this account, keep the password box blank and press OK. See if you can pass the check.

If not, then in your situation a password is needed. If your device does not have a password, you will have to set one.

Kindly please share more information about your needs, and your current situation with us. We will provide you with further assistance based on your feedback.

Best Regards,
