Hi, I have been trying to change up my settings on my Windows XP computer. So I changed the appearance from blue to silver, and my wallpaper suddenly changed to solid gray! So, I tried changing it back to this picture I made and it remained the solid color! After changing the appearance back to normal and trying so many times, I got it to change!!! But, when I shut the computer down and turn it back on/restart it, the background changes right back!!! How do I get the wallpaper to PERMANENTLY be there? Thank you!!!

Where is your wallpaper picture file stored? Is it from a website or is it on your PC?

It's in My Pictures. It's in a folder in My Pictures. So it's on my PC.

Are you aware of any other programs that have the ability to change your wallpaper? Like a "picture of the day" app like Bing for example?

If not, I'd try another method of setting the wallpaper. Such as right click the picture file and choose "set as desktop background".
