How to Make Backspace in Windows 7 or Vista Explorer Go Up like XP Did

Dear Sir,

When using Windows XP, in Windows Explorer, when navigate folders, click BackSpace key or "Up" arrow will always move up one higher folder, not back to history folder as "Left" arrow.

When I change to Windows 7, BackSpace Key = back to History folder. Also "Up" arrow is disappeared.

I don't want to use the Alt+Up shortcut.

I found 3rd parth script to install and run to make BackSpace Key back to work as Windows XP did.

At URL = http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/8955/make-backspace-in-windows-7-or-vista-explorer-go-up-like-xp-did/

Actually I don't want to use 3rd party script.

Does any way to do it without any use of script?

Thank you for your kindness.

Answer

I don't know of any way of getting the Up One Level button without using a third-party solution. However, examine the address bar in Windows Explorer; you can click on any part of the path and it will take you to that part. Also, the small arrows in the address bar give you many options of going back or forward.

Hope this helps.
