How to fix "Check for Windows Update" Issues

I was trying to download forza horizon 5 when it said error check for updates in settings, then I got to settings and checked for updates, and it said up to date and then i troubleshooted and it said, "Check For Windows Update" Detected.

Now try installing Forza 5 again and this time report back the full error message and number if it repeats.

Does the game make any more progress now?

Are you clicking the Download link in the black error box, where does it lead and what exactly happens there? I see you're ending up in Windows Update troubleshooter and wonder how it gets involved exactly.
