How to disable proxy server

The proxy server keeps turning itself on. I do not use a proxy server. When it turns itself on, none of the web browsers work. I need to stop the proxy server from turning on.

Hello,

Try these steps:

1. Press Windows Key + R and type inetcpl.cpl in the Run dialog box, to open Internet Properties.

2. Next, in Internet Properties window, switch to Connections tab. Click LAN Settings button.

3. In LAN Settings window, uncheck the Use a proxy server for your LAN option. Then check Automatically detect settings option. Click OK, Apply, OK and close Internet Properties window.

Are you using some modem for internet access? If yes then it's possible that the modem is turning on the Proxy Server by itself and that modem is setting up wrong proxy settings which may be the problem in accessing the internet. Otherwise, you can simply follow this guide to turn on and turn off Proxy settings manually but you may have already tried that.

If the modem is not the problem then I would suggest contacting tech-support.
