How to delete some item from start up menu for windows 10 ?

Hello every one,

I use windows 10 64 Bit home edition.

I found in the startup menu an unknown program named ' program' and there is no publisher name!

I have disabled the program from task manager but I want to completely delete this program from the startup menu.

I tried use regedit.exe  to delete this item on this path :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

and this path also

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

and this

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

It doesn’t appear there, even the rest of the items don’t appear completely.

Where can I find this program and delete it from the startup menu?

Thanks

Hi rcweb

Task Manager and indeed Msconfig offer only limited control over Startup items . . .

Click the link below to download a small free utility that does not require installation

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/d...

When the file downloads, unzip it.

Depending on your system, run Autoruns or Autoruns64 as Administrator

On the Logon tab of Autoruns, you will see that 'Program' entry, right click that and choose 'Delete'

That's It!

Hi rcweb

From your screenshot, I think that is top entry for Wondershare Helper Compact exe (Marked in Yellow in Autoruns)

Close Task Manager

In Autoruns, untick that (don't delete it) then go back into Task Manager - Startup, to see if that 'Program' Entry has gone . . .

Yes, you can safely delete that, there is a newer entry further down, that old Yellow one is obsolete . . .
