How to create thumbnails from photos in windows 10

There is a way for you to use a photo as a thumbnail/icon. The first thing that you need to do is to resize the image that you want to use into a perfect square (e.g. 256 x 256 pixels). Once done, you need to convert the image into an ICO file. You can search the Microsoft Store or the web for an application that will convert your image to an ICO file. Once you're able to convert its file type, that's the time that you can use it as a thumbnail/icon. To do so, kindly follow these steps:

1. Type settings on the search bar.
2. Click on Settings.
3. Click on Personalization.
4. On the left panel, click on Themes.
5. On the right panel, under Related Settings, click on Desktop icon settings.
6. From there, select the icon that you want to change, then click on Change Icon....
7. Click Browse..., look for you ICO file, then click on Open.
8. Click on OK, then OK again to close the window.
