How to change the $ to pound (GBP) on the keyboard?

It is all to do with keyboard languages..
Go to Control Panel > Region and Languages > Keyboards and Languages tab > Change Keyboards button
Set the default language for your keyboard and then remove all other keyboards. Don't forget to apply the changes

It sounds like you are set up to use the US keyboard layout, but would
like to use the UK one.
To change it, go to Control Panel | Region and Language, and click the
