How to change the internet icon on the taskbar to the 5-bar icon thingy when not connected.

Hi,

Whenever I'm not connected to the internet, it shows a different icon apart from the others that show 5 bars. As far as I know, it's supposed to be 5 dark bars when not connected then there's some star above it. But it's not. It's some computer with an exclamation mark on a yellow triangle.

It is a Wi-Fi connection and I have been using it for a year now.

Did you open Network and Sharing to check?  There must be another one there now which is taking precedence.   E.g. FWIW when I look in adapter settings I see I have a Bluetooth PAN there.  Looks like if I ever got it connected it might take precedence over Wi-Fi and if it did I don't know what its icon would look like--hopefully not Bluetooth because there already is one of those down there.   ; )
