This doesn't work for me.

I selected the only other option available (instead of auto install, and btw, there is no SAVE tab in that window) which is Notify To Restart. I still get up in the morning and Windows has either restarted, or has closed all my programs. This is a deal breaker for me, since I typically leave my audio/video editing software open days on end (working on long projects, etc) or even needing to keep my online game on all the time to get attendance points, since I've paid for the game.

This, if not solved REALLY QUICK will make me go back to Windows 7.

This also doesn't work as in W10, there is no "windows updates" option that I can find under control panel.  My W7 machine has it, but now my W10 does not.  I've searched everywhere and I come up with all the other security settings possible, but no update control.

My latest update hosed up my Office products and the performance of my laptop. I had to revert to the previous restore point.

I am positive that background download and install of Updates totally trashed my Win 10 pro.  During routine browsing I had a memory overload with multiple updates, failed, and Windows Defender broke beyond repair, plus other problems resulting.  I have had to do a total reinstall.

I really need the ability to control when Windows downloads and installs updates as all previous versions of Windows.  I bought Pro because I understood this feature was available in it but I am unable to find the settings.

Control of Updates is essential to many users who do not just use windows for web browsing and word processing.

Typical MSBS (Microsoft bull).  I bought a new laptop which came with windows 10.  It seems as if you can't buy a machine with windows 7 os.  I HATE windows 10 after working with windows 7.  I followed the steps for your "solution" to change  to select how updates are installed.  When I opened "advanced options" there was NO DROP DOWN MENU to select how updates are installed.  It seems as if windows 10 is carefully calculated to find the most absolute WORST MOST INCONVENIENT TIME to push updates.  I'd do almost anything to get my hands on a legal copy of windows 7 os.
