How long will it take for diskpart to complete using clean all on a 6th hard drive

Yes I'm trying to gauge the amount of time that using disk part Clean all command will take on the 6 TB hard drive I seen some postings that would take up the 72 hours or 3 days I guess depending on The way it is attached to the computer

It is attached by sata 6gb connections

I don't know if the number is that it would take 3 days is accurate and I just want anyone that has any input on this thanks

Hi kjl1956

In my experience it takes the clean all command 3.5 hours per TB, which would be 21 hours on that 6TB drive, but as you sat that depends on the connection speed of the drive and yours is fast . . .

Hi kjl1956

The clean all command will need to write to every bit on that hard drive, that is why it takes so long, do you need to securely wipe the drive(s) would the clean command not be sufficient?

The computer uptime was about 16 hours and the process completed sometime within that with the clean all command

I had let the operation start kind of late at night and let it run into about noon time so I don't know if it only took 12 hours or 15 but it was a lot less than 71
