Hello,
I've installed an external DVD drive (USB) to my HP x360 laptop with Win 10 (64-bit Home Premium Ed.).
When I insert a movie DVD into the drive, Win10 keeps asking me to either: (1) Go to their App Store to find an app, or Do nothing.
When I picked the "free" Cyberlink PowerDVD from the Store and installed it, I was disappointed to see that it is NOT really free.
When the time comes to actually run it, it asks you to "activate the FULL version" which then asks for money to buy it. Very misleading.
Can Windows 10 automatically play a movie DVD without buying additional software?
The so-called "Movies and TV" option, which applies to MPG, MP4, files is somehow not configurable as deafult in the AUTOPLAY settings.
Is Windows Media Player the answer? If so, how does one select it as the default program when a DVD is inserted into a drive?
It does not seem to be configurable under the AUTOPLAY settings of Windows 10.
Any tips, advice or suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Thanking you in advance.
