how do I update window 10 photo app?

I want to blur faces on photos. I see tutorials online but my app doesn't look like the ones in the tutorials. It does not have an "effects" button on the lower left of the screen.

Based on the details provided, have you checked your Windows Store if Photos App has a new update? If not, kindly access Windows Store and search for Photos App.

I went to the link. Photos does not even show up on the list of choices. When I go into my Start then Settings then check for updates, it says I have all latest versions.

Could post a screenshot of the tutorial so that we can investigate it here at our end. I have checked my Photo App but there's no way I can blur or pixelate the faces using the Photo App.

Are you referring to Selective Focus?  That was eliminated in 11/2016.

It would be a good idea to take down the "help" instructions for that feature since the feature doesn't exist anymore. It is very frustrating to be trying to follow instructions for something non existant.

I understand the frustration you are feeling right now. Having instructions on how to do a certain task using a certain feature but the feature itself is not available or not existing. What we can do is to submit a feedback regarding this matter to notify our engineer and developer of this matter. In order to submit a new feedback, kindly follow these steps:  

  1. On a Windows 10 device, search for "Feedback Hub" in Cortana search, and then launch the app.  

  2. Navigate to Feedback in the left menu, and then press + Add new feedback.  

  3. Select the Problem, and share any details you think are relevant, and then choose an appropriate category and subcategory.  

  4. Important: If possible, reproduce the problem(s) after clicking Begin monitoring(or Start capture) near the end of the form; Stop monitoring when you're done.  

  5. Once you've completed the form and monitoring, click Submit.  

  6. Click Continue using Feedback Hub.  

  7. Click My Feedback at the top, and then find the item you submitted (it may take a while to appear).  

  8. Open the item you submitted, and then click Share.  

  9. Click Copy link, and then paste the link in your response (it will look like https://aka.ms/unique link>).

For more information regarding on submitting feedback, kindly refer to the article entitle "Send feedback to Microsoft with the Feedback Hub app". 

If possible, kindly provide us the unique link so that we can follow it up with our engineers and developers.
