How do I unlock the camera in Windows 10?

My camera displays a padlock and will not function in skype or zoom. I have been to settings, privacy, camera, and access to the camera is on. I have also allowed every listed app, including skype and zoom, access to the camera. It makes no difference whatsoever. Help!

Hi Mihael

The lock o nthe camera usually appears if your camera is turned oof.

Look at the [removed_js] keys on your keyboard is there a camera icon on any of those keys? if so, press that key, or the Fn Key + that key to see if that turns on your webcam.

If not, is there aa small privacy slider beside the webcam on your laptop?

If you still cannot get the webcam working, click the start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting system information window, so I can investigate this for you.

Many thanks. I only resolved the issue by rolling back to the previous driver in Device manager. I fear the issue will re-emerge next time the camera updates, but at least then I'll have a relatively quick fix to hand!
