Currently when I'm trying to play games with touchpad it occasionally stops. I have managed to track this issue down to be of the "disable touchpad when typing". I've looked everywhere but I'm unable to find the setting.

Hi LloydYan,
I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.
Open Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Mouse > Additional Mouse settings , you should see the touchpad manufacturer tab or its options under the "Hardware " tab, on it you should be able to change the desired option
If I helped you anyway, It makes me happy.

Hi LloydYan,

Welcome post in Microsoft Community.

I'm Mosken, I do apologize for the inconvenience that you're experiencing right now, let me help you sort things out.

According to your description, I knew that you want to disable the touchpad while typing, and occasionally stop responding when using the touchpad to play games. If my understanding is wrong, please correct me in the reply.

First of all, for most notebooks, the manufacturer provides the Fn function key to close the touchpad, you can try it, or go to the official website of your notebook manufacturer to check.

Or you can turn off the touchpad in the win11 settings. Win+I to open "Settings" > "Bluetooth & other devices", then you can find the touchpad, then unckeck it when you don't need the touchpad.

In addition, regarding the touchpad you mentioned that occasionally stops responding, I suggest you go to your notebook manufacturer's official website to download the touchpad driver of the corresponding model, and then install it manually.

If it still does not work, I suggest you go into Safe mode to see if it's the system itself problem. Because Safe Mode enables a minimum number of additional services or apps to rule out issues caused by personalized settings and third-party apps .You can click here to view the specific operation steps.

The above steps are provided based on the information I have learned so far, I wish that will be helpful to you. If your problem still cannot be solved by these steps, you could tell me the specific situation in the next reply. I will continue to assist you in solving the problem.

Best Regards,
