If not and you need a break the only stable way to turn them off is to set a Metered Connection:

There are no problems reported. But as there are important security and quality updates included I would take time each month to turn off Metered Connection and install all the Updates.

There are even good reports from users now who've had them shut off for awhile and only install the Version Upgrades twice a year from the Media Creation Tool which is the most stable method anyway, and includes all previous Updates rolled in.
