How do I stop the Message Copilot popup from asking me to sign in

I use Firefox and love Message Copilot for getting answers and I use it many times during the day, There is a popup asking me to choose from Sign in or Maybe later that keeps popping up. I even asked it how to stop it but the answer had steps that weren't available..

By the way I sure wish they had a topic like None of the Above since none fits.

Hello, Sue Johnson_561

Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the frequent login popups you described. Here are some troubleshooting options:

1. Clear your browser's cache and cookies:

Open Firefox, click the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the upper right corner, and select “Settings”.

Select “Privacy & Security” from the left menu.

Scroll down to the “Cookies and website data” section and click “Clear data”.

Select “Cookies and website data” and “Cached web content” and click “Clear”.

Disclaimer: Your browser automatically saves temporary internet files to help pages load faster. Clearing this cache will sometimes fix website issues. Please back up all your personal files first, such as Favorites, to ensure you do not lose data.

2. Check the website permission settings:

Visit the Message Copilot website.

Click on the small lock icon on the left side of the address bar and select “More Information”.

Select “Permissions” in the pop-up window.

Make sure that the “Show pop-up notifications” option is set correctly. You can block this option to minimize the appearance of pop-ups.

3. Disable pop-ups:

Open Firefox, click on the menu button in the upper right corner and select “Settings”.

Select “Privacy & Security” from the left menu.

Scroll down to the “Permissions” section and uncheck “Block all pop-ups”.

4. Check Firefox extensions:

Open Firefox, click the menu button in the upper right corner and select “Add-ons and Themes”.

In the “Extensions” tab, disable the extensions related to Message Copilot, then refresh the page to see if the problem is solved.

If the problem is still not resolved even after you try the above steps, I tested it in EDGE and it's most likely a Firefox issue. You can try to contact Firefox technical support, they can also give you more professional answers.

I look forward to your feedback, which will help me pinpoint your problem.

Best Regards,

Aaron| Microsoft Community Support Specialist

I narrowed down the problem to when I copied and pasted some thing into it. If I just typed it in it was fine. Strangely though I no longer have the problem even when I copied and pasted.

Thank you for your help. I will save it in case I start having the problem again.

Hi Sue,

I guess you have resolved this.

My System: WIN 10 (latest updates)

For others, I found this annoying popup i.e. sign in to Copilot was installed in the 'Start/Create' menu. To fix: when you hit the windows start menu check the create tile group. I uninstalled it from there by right click, uninstall, and it fixed the issue. No more annoying copilot popup at start up. Hope this helps someone.

regards

Mick

Hi all,

For the benefit of anyone else with this type of Copilot nagging problem (in my case, Copilot pop up following start up of laptop), I found that simply disabling Copilot in the Startup list that is available as a tab on Task Manager (right click on taskbar to get a menu which includes Task Manager) did the trick.

Regards

Alex

I go to start but don't see any create tile group. The start just lists the apps.

I don't see any startup list tab, just a list of processes which did not include copilot
