No, I saw that article.  The problem is not that I don't have a search tab that the article shows.  I just have a search box.  It does not have a way that I can see to search by date.  Thanks for trying.

You can open a folder and enter the syntax "datemodified:" without quotes. This will sort the search by date then check the Date modified column for the specific date you're trying to search.

I'd actually tried that, but that just searched for the term datemodified:.  Good idea though.

I really do appreciate the effort.  Another fellow asked the same question and never got an answer before the thread was closed.

I wonder if there is a settings issue?

I know this has been written a million times, but I have to get it out once.

For almost 30 years, I have been dealing with Microsoft not adequately supporting their products.  I know that they donate billions to charity, but how about one to their customers?

My first computer was a RadioShack TRS-80.  I only had one issue ever with it and I called up their helpline and actually spoke to a tech guy (not someone with an "answer tree").  He actually spoke to me like an intelligent human being and he explained what was going on and didn't just spit out form answers to me.  The problem was fixed within minutes.  I still remember the details of the call to this day.

My prior version of Windows 10 didn't have this problem.  Why should I pay their support line to fix a problem that they have now created?

Hi,

If you right click on one of the Name, Size, Date Modified Column areas of the folder window, you should also have a "Date Created" column available.. Simply click on it and the files will be sorted by date created, either from old to new, or new to old..

I appreciate it.  The problem I have is that I need to be able to search the entire computer.  The method that you described only searches the contents of the folder I happen to be in.

Found the answer elsewhere but am putting it below for others:

"Please make a regular search within your folders/subfolders using *.* - you'll get all the files from all your subfolders tree - then use the method described above.

I had the same troubles to find date modified and/or created files without any success until found this explanation. Then I tried a different ways until realized how it should work in a few steps with "bells & whistles" - instead of simple & intuitive approach before the new W10 updates..

It will work only with *.* for search bar and then manually choose the date from main window...

I really don't understand why windows designers/programmers always choose the most ugly way to realize the things, it actually started from W10 latest releases - most good working tools and possibilities were "improved" in a most ugly way possible..

Especially faulty updates issues...

So sad..."

Why they've made this now so clunky is aggravating.  It reminds of when they messed up how to change the background color by actually taking away functionality.  What *ssh*l* approves this sh*t?
