How do I remove old PC's from Link to Windows?

Hi there,

I had a laptop connected to my phone using the Phone Link feature. Unfortunately, the laptop broke, so I got a new one and connected it to my phone using Phone Link. However, when I try to share files or websites from my phone, it still shows my old laptop on the sharing screen, which is quite annoying for me. I've already tried logging out and logging back into my Microsoft account on the new laptop, but it only made things worse (by duplicating the old laptop on the sharing screen). Does anyone have a solution for this issue?

- The picture shows an Indonesian language and beside it, there's a red text with the translation. Also, the Laptop inside the red square is the issue that I've been talking about (DESKTOP-ILKR10D is the old Laptop and LAPTOP-A509FJ-EK751T is the new Laptop).

Thanks

Clear Devices in Phone Link App:

Open the Phone Link app on your phone.

Go to the "Settings" or "Device Management" section within the app.

Look for a list of connected devices and remove the old laptop (DESKTOP-ILKR10D).

Reset the Phone Link App on Your Phone:

On your phone, go to "Settings" > "Apps" > "Phone Link."

Clear the cache and storage for the Phone Link app.

Restart your phone, then set up the connection with the new laptop again.

Remove Devices from Microsoft Account:

Go to the Microsoft account devices page on your browser here https://account.microsoft.com/devices

Sign in with your Microsoft account.

Look for the old laptop (DESKTOP-ILKR10D) in the device list and select "Remove device."

Check Windows Settings on Your New Laptop:

On your new laptop, go to "Settings" > "Phone Link" or "Phone & devices."

Ensure that only the current connection with your phone is active.

Hello,

instead of opeining a new issue, having a similar problem I'll give a feedback on your suggestion:

Clear Devices in Phone Link App:

Open the Phone Link app on your phone.

Go to the "Settings" or "Device Management" section within the app.

Look for a list of connected devices and remove the old laptop (DESKTOP-ILKR10D).

Older devices (SURFACE in CAPS, in my case) are actually listed, but there is not a way to remove them... Just listed as disconnected and no other info...

Reset the Phone Link App on Your Phone:

On your phone, go to "Settings" > "Apps" > "Phone Link."

Clear the cache and storage for the Phone Link app.

Restart your phone, then set up the connection with the new laptop again. ù

I actually installed the app by scratch on a new device (the tablet I took the screenshots above with, and that's how I noticed the issue, so clearing cache and storage is not the solution.

Remove Devices from Microsoft Account:

Go to the Microsoft account devices page on your browser here
https://account.microsoft.com/devices

Sign in with your Microsoft account.

Look for the old laptop (DESKTOP-ILKR10D) in the device list and select "Remove device."

Only my new devices are listed in devices section on account.microsoft.com. In my case I have to say that both DESKTOP and SURFACE were previous windows installations I got linked to my account on the same physical device. I changed licence... but the fact that "SURFACE" in all CAPS is not there is true, the new windows install "Surface" without caps is correctly recorded...

Check Windows Settings on Your New Laptop:

On your new laptop, go to "Settings" > "Phone Link" or "Phone & devices."

Ensure that only the current connection with your phone is active.

It is.

Sorry to intrude, but I hope that a solution can be found.

Since older devices are shown in the "share to PC" command on phone it's an actual issue.

Thanks
