How do I propagate security settings across accounts on a device?

As the tile says.

There doesn't seem to be a way to lock a device down when different users use it.

How do I propagate settings across accounts on a device?

Or better yet, override their lax settings when using my device?

Hi, zoey blake.

Welcome to Microsoft support community.

We noticed you are asking if there is a way to gain more control over your device when there is serval user using it.

-----------------------------------------------------------

However, we does not know what do you mean when you say: "There doesn't seem to be a way to lock a device down when different users use it.".

Upon our brief test if you are talking about locking your screen when there are more than user is login(when you switch user from start menu you do not log out current user, it still idle at background),this does not seem to be an issue. However , if you want to shutdown there could be an alert says there is multiple user login therefore you might risk a data lost if power down your computer.

----------------------------------------------------------

Generally speaking, the personal user of Windows does not require this degree of control, the only straightforward method might be set other account as guest account which could limit their  ability. But I do not know if that is what you need.

For advanced usage, you might need to use Group Policy, which could control the behavior of the user under government in very specific aspect. Unfortunately that is out of reach of the service range of this community, I suggest you ask question at: Windows - Microsoft Q&A where you could get more professional help.

While we might not offer you help directly, hope we could point you to the right direction. If I understand your purpose incorrectly feel free to  clarify at the reply.
