How do I get Windows Explorer in Windows 11 to search a USB drive?

When I click in Search in the taskbar to find a file or app, the returned results are only from the C: drive. I have a USB drive (E;) and I'd like Windows Explorer to look there too instead of me having to open File Explorer to manually look for the file on the E:Drive

Hi, I'm Elise, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

If you open the USB drive in file explorer and use the search box at the top right of this window it will locate the files on that drive without having to look for them.

With the taskbar search it will only find files in permanently connected drives,

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Kind Regards,
Elise
