How do I fix the "WMI Provider Host stopped working and was closed"????

Got a link sent to me by Microsoft for the "hotfix" and when I clicked on it I received a message that the "hotfix" was either moved or doesn't exist anymore. I'm running Vista SP2. How do I fixthe "WMI Provider Host stopped working and was closed"????

Have you written Microsoft Support regarding the "hotfix" being moved or doesn't exist anymore situation?



What anti-virus software are you using?

For those using McAfee, Spamkiller had to be disabled


Have you tried clean boot to figure out the root cause?


Perform a clean startup to determine whether background programs are interfering with your game or program
