How do I fix mouse lag

This really isn't a question. But I have seen it all over the net. Frustrated with mouse lag. I have followed all tips, advice and you name it. So I decided to just read comments all over. No luck. My mouse lag was horrible after updates along with slow keyboard. Finely after following microsoft and other areas I really did give up. I was fearful of messing with graphics drivers as I do art work on computer. Well, that was my issue and others issues in family with same problem with mouse. Windows updates that when you do upgrades and what not. So instead of clicking update drivers, roll back drivers I clicked to add original driver before issues and problems. And yes, it worked fine. Now my computer is back to normal after months of frustrations with mouse lag. So its best to keep original drivers as the updates on windows drivers do not help as far as that. Here's step by step. Device Manager, display adapters, right click for properties on display adapter, click on driver, roll back driver and click orginal driver that worked before. I'm finely happy as I was already going to buy a new computer. Now mine is running like new again over this simple little thing that I spent months trying to track. How I knew it was windows updates is I put computer in safemode, rebooted to safe mode. Mouse worked great. When I set back to normal. It acted up. So yes, I knew it was graphic adapter drivers.

Hi Carolyn,

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

I’m glad you were able to solve your mouse lag problem by rolling back your graphics driver.

Mouse lag is one of the most common Windows 10 issues users face. There are many possible causes for this problem, such as interference from hardware or software, Windows settings, or types of peripherals used.

Some other possible solutions are reinstalling the mouse driver, updating the graphics card driver, disabling Cortana or Fast Startup, adjusting mouse settings, etc.

Thank you for sharing your experience and solution with me. This will help more people in need.

In addition, Thank you for your feedback. Microsoft takes every issue from users very seriously. I have submitted this issue for you through internal channels. You can also submit your problem through the Feedback Hub (if convenient, please provide as much detail as possible, including pictures, repro videos, etc.).

I have or had the same problem with strong lag and unresponsiveness of the wireless mouse (Microsoft wireless mouse 5000), as well as choppy typing and missing characters when using the keyboard. (Microsoft wireless keyboard 3050). My PC is a barebone mini pc (ECS LIVA Q3 Plus V1605 - AMD Ryzen - 8GB RAM - 128GB eMMC) running Windows 10.

These problems dropped immediately by plugging the dongle not directly into the PC but onto a small USB hub with only 5cm cable.

I turned off HDR video streaming and the problem went away. I wasn't streaming any HDR anyway.
