How do i fix critical error?

I have recently updated my windows. 2024-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5043076) and apparently this update couldn't be installed on my windows system. The problem right now is I'm not able to access my search bar and my windows button because of it and if i press my windows key it will pop up a critical error (start menu isn't working). I need help on how can i fix this issue.

Hi Hayden, thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today, my timezone is UTC +8.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, this issue occurs when there is a miscalibration or corrupted system files on the PC, and for us to sort out the issue, kindly follow the steps below:

Method 1. Repair Windows Store and app:

On Powershell(admin), copy and paste the command below:

Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Method 2. Repair Windows Store and update components

Open Powershell with Admin or CMD with Admin (Press Windows key + X then click Windows Powershell(Admin))

Copy each line of command to Powershell then press enter (one line at a time)

net stop bits
net stop wuauserv
net stop appidsvc
net stop cryptsvc
Del "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\*.*"
rmdir %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution /S /Q
rmdir %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 /S /Q
regsvr32.exe /s atl.dll
regsvr32.exe /s urlmon.dll
regsvr32.exe /s mshtml.dll
netsh winsock reset
netsh winsock reset proxy
net start bits
net start wuauserv
net start appidsvc
net start cryptsvc

-Once done restart the device and check.

Method 3. Try to create a new Admin user account:

Thank you very much for the immediate reply. However I tried playing around with the windows update --> advanced options --> recovery (additional options) and to my surprise i clicked on the Fix Problems Using Windows Update and it basically reinstalls the whole thing which takes awhile but as long as there's no issue with it then I'm deeply grateful for it being able to fix the problems within my system. Thank you very much for your time and if I ever encounter a problem like this in the future, I will gladly try the methods that u listed out.
