Thanks for the information, Roland. For this concern, we recommend that you create a system restore point, then boot the computer in Safe Mode with networking.

While in Safe Mode, disable any third party antivirus software installed on your computer. If you have the installer or can re-download the programs, better uninstall it in the meantime. You can reinstall them after performing the troubleshooting steps.

After disabling or uninstalling the third party antivirus programs on your computer, perform CHKDSK:

  1. Press the Windows key and type command prompt on the search bar.
  2. Right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
  3. Type: chkdsk /r and press Enter.
  4. Restart the computer, boot it in Safe Mode with networking.

Running CHKDSK may take a while, we recommend that you perform it on your available time.

After restarting your computer, download and run the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7.

Let us know how it goes.

Sadly you have not been asked what compelled you to run the SURT in the first place...  what was the issue you were having that you thought SURT would resolve?

It is extremely unlikely that SURT is going to fix anything but it will advise you of potential issues.  Mostly it is a waste of time.

I have never seen one of the Microsoft engaged Support Engineer alleged "experts" every successfully resolve any errors reported by SURT or SFC errors but you can stick around here if it is your desire.  Clean Boot, Safe Mode, chkdsk, etc. will not resolve any of these issues but there is hope.

If you want to fix the issues with SURT and/or SFC then I would go to a different community where they have folks that actually know how to fix these kinds of things and do it all the time.  There are many example similar to your issue that are swiftly and efficiently resolved without trying things.

That would be here:
