How do I find my Windows user name?

I can't recall my Windows user name.  Where/how do I find it?  When I enter my email address as user name, the following window pops up: No mapping between account name and security IDs was done.  I can't finish configuring Dragon microphone without it.  I am using Windows XP.

* Please try a lower page number.

* Please enter only numbers.

Two possible ways:

  • Click the Start button.  Your user name appears at the top of the Start menu.
  • Go to Control Panel > User Accounts .

I need my password to get into the user accounts.  The computer won't let me bypass.

my user name is   Jackieashley    I thought that was it im new at this I get confused , when I am asked for my user name thank you very much

I run the latest updates and when I activate the start menu, I do not see my user name anywhere.

You have to go to your user account and the user name is there.

So is my user name, the one that must be entered to bypass the Trusted Installer query, my e-mail address, which is listed as my user name, or the name that appears on the start menu?  Because in Task Manager my user name is listed as my e-mail address.

I upgraded to the latest (I think) Windows 10 on Sat. 11/25.  Everything looked good!  However, two days ago I started getting this message every time I turned my PC on, "User name or Password is incorrect".  It must be my User Name since my password still lets me log in.  I verified my User Name and it shows my user name as the same as before I did the upgrade.

Thomas Wilson (my user name, by the way)

How do you notify me?  If by email, my email address is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

How do I retrieve my Microsoft user name.  Just spent two hours waiting for live chat as the virtual assistant was useless.  My computer crashed and I bought a new computer and want to retrieve One Drive files. Is there some phone number to call?
