How do I enable DLNA on Windows 11?

I am running Windows 11 on my desktop PC. I just reinstalled Windows today and I can't figure out how to turn DLNA streaming back on. All the guides appear to be outdated, as I can't find the option "Media Streaming Options" any longer.

Edition Windows 11 Home Insider Preview

Version Dev

OS build 22533.1001

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22533.1001.0

Let me know if you need any more information. Thanks!

Hi TDuffer

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

That option should still be available to you in Windows 11,I have just checked this.

Open the old Control Panel, (Click your Start Button, then just type control and press Enter)

At the top right of the old Control Panel, set View to icons

Open 'Network and Sharing Center'

On the left, you should see the Media Streaming Options link:

My problem ended up being that I had windows pro N, which actually stands for NO MEDIA. There is a package you can download an upgrade. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/mediafeaturepack

The problem was solved. In my case it was enough to enable Windows Media Player (which came disabled by default in my Windows).

To do this:

Select the Start button and select Settings > Apps > Optional Features. At the end of the list, go to More Windows Features. In the new menu select Media Resources and enable Windows Media Player.

With that the option of streaming media appeared in the network settings.

Those who have Windows 10 N or Windows 11 N just download the Media Feature Pack (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/mediafeaturepack).
