How do I change the color of the Aero Theme?

Original Title:  How do I chnage Colors?

I have Windows 7 professional, I am using a windows 7 Aero theme with grey (slate) color selected.  Many of my programs (IE8, Office 2003, etc.) however, still have a light blue background in the grey windows frame.

Is there any way to select a color theme that changes the complete appearance?

Answer

Hello JGreg,

Below are the steps to modify the color of the Aero Theme in Windows 7.

Right-click any blank area of the desktop. Select "Personalize" from the desktop menu that appears. The Personalization window will appear.

Select "Window Color and Appearance." The"Window Color and Appearance" window will open.

Select a color from the available choices. Clear the "Enable Transparency" checkbox so that the taskbar will take on the selected color.

Move the "Color Intensity" slide to the right to make the color brighter and more visible.

Click the arrow next to "Show Color Mixture" for more options, such as "Hue," "Saturation" and "Brightness." Click "OK" to apply changes and then close the dialog.

If you would please follow up with me at your earliest convenience, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,
