Hi,
Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for your interest in Windows 10.
I will definitely assist you.
To understand the issue better, I would like to know what is the make/model of the router?
Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if it helps in resolving the issue. If you have a computer that can connect to the Internet, you can find the password by doing the following:
Open a web browser.
Enter the IP address for your wireless router into the search bar (for example, 192.168.1.1). Look for your router’s default IP address in your router documentation or online.
Enter the user name and password to open the router’s configuration webpage. Most router documentation includes the default user name and password.
On the configuration webpage, look for a wireless or wireless settings option.
Now, look for a security or wireless encryption setting. The security key (sometimes called a network key, a passphrase, or a network password) should be listed nearby.
You can also visit the below link on How to change a specific Wi-Fi setting (Step applies to Windows 10).
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2805355
Hope this helps. Post us with the status we will be glad to help you.

Try this:
Launch Settings.
Click "Network & Internet".
Click "Network and Sharing Center".
Click "Wi-Fi".
Click "Wireless Properties."
Click the Security tab.
Check "Show characters".
Enter the password in "Network security key".
It's all very very simple. :)

God awful experience trying to change this. And that answer from support was so far off the mark.
So many of these "modern apps" are just terrible. Grrr.

Did the procedure posted by GregYurkon work for you?
If it did, either you or I should mark it as Answer.

All I can say is that I verified the instructions in build 10240. If they don't work for someone else, maybe they're trying to do something other than what I think they're trying to, or maybe there's a difference between builds. (Of course I understand the importance of verifying someone else's instructions. Following someone else's instructions to fix another issue caused System File Checker to report and fix yet another issue.)Did the procedure posted by GregYurkon work for you?

Hi,
Hope you didn't misinterpret my question. I think your post was probably the answer to the question. I was hoping that nodirectionhome would confirm that it was, so I can mark your post as Answer.

I would like to apologize to anyone who tried to connect to public wi-fi following the instructions I gave earlier and found out that they don't work for that. A few hours ago, I discovered they only work for changing your home wi-fi password, but only if
you follow my instructions before changing the router's password. If you're trying to connect to public wi-fi or change your home password after changing the router's password, the following should work (but given what I just said, maybe you shouldn't rely
on it):
Find out the folowing:
Open Settings.
Click/tap "Network & Internet."
Click/tap "Wi-Fi" in the left pane.
Click/tap "Manage Wi-Fi settings" under "Wi-Fi" on the right side. (You might have to scroll down to find it.)
Click/tap the wireless network which you want to delete.
Click/tap "Forget."
<Edited to add>
The easy way to reconnect:
If that doesn't work, try the hard way:
Choose 1 or 2:
In the Network and Sharing Center, click/tap "Set up a new connection or network."
Click/tap "Manually connect to a wireless network," and click/tap "Next."
Enter the information for the wireless network you want to add and connect to, and click/tap "Next."
Click/tap "Close."
<Edited to add>
More detailed instructions can be found in tutorials at www.tenforums.com, which is where I got these instructions.
