how can i "unlink" two computers that share the same microsoft account?

i have a laptop and a pc, the laptop is fairly new and this is the first time i've had two computers at once. when setting up my laptop, i used the same microsoft account as the one on my pc. now, every time i install something on one, it will appear on the desktop of the other one too. the backgrounds always change together as well, and it is becoming really really annoying. is there a way for me to turn this off?

To turn off your sync settings, please do the step below.

1. Click the start menu, then click Settings
2. Go to accounts, then select Sync your settings on the list.
3. On the Sync your settings you can then toggle the on and off button to turn off your sync setting

I hope you find this useful. Do not hesitate to get back to us if you need further assistance. I will be more than happy to help
