how can i increase my screen resolution from 1024x600 to 1024x768

i dont have a option available to increase resolution past 1024x600 in (control panel...display...change screen resolution) and windows 8 requires 1024x768....pls help

The maximum resolution depends on your hardware - it can't be increased passed the maximum limit of the hardware. If you have a netbook with a 1024x600 screen resolution Metro apps will not run (but desktop programs will still work). 

You can try this modification to allow higher resolutions on your netbook:

Windows 7 - Change Screen Resolution

1. Right click on your Desktop

2. Click Screen Resolution

3. Select the resolution you want

4. Click apply

5. Click Keep to use the new resolution, or click Revert to go back to the previous resolution.
