How can I fix CPU 100 % usage by opening a program?

If I Open a program, it causes CPU to rise up at 100%. This problem started two days ago, my pc fell down, since then i'm getting 100 % CPU by opening a program (it stays at 100%). I checked my PC and everything is fine, I even took out the CPU cleaned it and put it back. The only thing that isn't at 100% is Opera GX. I noticed when something gets 100% and I open Opera GX, the CPU usage goes down. If you need more information to solve this problem please ask, I can't work with my PC anymore!

Dear Marcel Badertscher

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.

Regarding your 100% CPU hogging issue, first of all, the first thing you need to do is to take a picture or screenshot of your task manager to find out what program is hogging your CPU.

You can press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to bring up the task manager.

Here are some regular programs for you:

Option 1. Reset the power cache.

You can press WIN+S to search for CMD - Run as administrator and type in:

PowerCfg /SETACVALUEINDEX SCHEME_CURRENT SUB_PROCESSOR IDLEDISABLE 000

PowerCfg /SETACTIVE SCHEME_CURRENT

Program 2.

Press WIN+R and type Control - Enter Control Panel - View in the upper right corner: Category - Hardware and Sound - Power Options - High Performance - Change Program Settings - Change Advanced Power Options - Processor Power Management - Maximum Processor Status Set to 100%.

Option 3.

Computer infected with Trojan virus can also cause CPU persistent occupancy problem, you can try to full scan for viruses and malicious Trojan programs.

Option 4.

You can press WIN+R and type MSCONFIG-Services-Hide all microsoft services-Disable all-apply to restart WINDOWS.

Hope the above information can help you.

Looking forward to your further reply.
