How can I block the Microsoft News Feed?

Every time (a) I click on my outlook.com tab and also (b) when I leave the MS Community, I get the blasted Microsoft News Feed.

I don't want it and I can't stand it - it's full of nonsense as far as I'm concerned. It also interferes with my use of MY laptop.

Every time it appears, I have to go through the rigmarole of hiding it but it still appears the next time.

I've set my outlook.com mail to be my home page but it overrides that too.

How can I block it?

PS I used to have a similar problem with MSN News appearing every time I shut down my laptop. Thank goodness that's stopped - it often was the source of a scam, or a virus.

But I still see the MSN page when I next power up!

Then you must have that page - the Start page - configured for Edge to open with. Check your settings here:

If you want Edge to open with your Outlook.com inbox, set that as the specific page.
