My problem is that I have bought a new pc and I cannot active Windows 10 on the new pc.
I have a digital retail Windows license attached to my Microsoft account. From what I understand I should be able to transfer this license to a new PC.
I have previously used the license on a pc with name DESKTOP-1 and now I have bought a new pc with name DESKTOP-2. Both of these devices are visible in the "Devices" page on my Microsoft account.
I have formatted the hard drive on the old pc and installed Windows 10 on the new pc and logged in with my Microsoft account.
When I got to "Settings" and "Activation" I can see the error "Windows reported that no product key was found on your device. Error code: 0xC004F213"
When I click on "Troubleshoot" under "Activate Windows now" a window opens with the message "We weren't able to activate Windows on this device".
When I click on "I changed hardware on this device recently" a new window opens with heading "Reactivate Windows" and "Select this device from below" with a list of devices.
Only my old pc DESKTOP-1 is shown. I expect to see my new pc DESKTOP-2 so I can select it and activate it.
How can I activate Windows 10 on my new pc?
