Hibernate in Windows 11

I understand how to get Hibernate to function in Windows 11 using the Power Button or from the Start Button but what about getting Hibernate to work automatically, say, closing down Windows on its own. Am I under the right impression this it not possible to do?

The first step is to go to the start menu through the Windows Icon and click on the Settings gear. If you prefer, use the shortcut Win + I.

In the second step, go to System located in the left pane. Then select the Power and Battery tab displayed among the central options.

On the new page, go to the Screen and Sleep option.

Finally, based on your preference, choose the time from the drop-down menu for each action to turn off the screen or suspend the device. In addition to the Never option, the user can also choose the time for blocking, ranging from 1 minute to 5 hours.

This is too bad because I've been trying everything in the book (and websites) to get my mouse from waking this laptop. It's a total no go so far. That's why I resorted to Hibernate only to have the great joy of finding it doesn't exist anymore, at least, not to automatically hibernate.

I've unchecked everything there is to uncheck in the Mouse, Keyboard & Network adaptors and nothing is working. If you have another suggestion, please let me know. Thanks.

That is supposed to work but it doesn't for me. The computer goes to sleep but I can still wake it with the mouse & I'm trying to stop that. Also, the computer wakes up and goes right back to sleep every 10 or so minutes. If you've got something else, please let me know before I go right over the edge! :-)

try some of the actions below if you haven't already

- Press Windows + X select Device Manager;
- Choose device as double click with mouse;
- Click the Power Management tab and uncheck the Computer may turn off the device to save power option.

And now do the test and see if it worked, if not, follow the next steps:

- Press Windows + Q keys, in the search box write Power Options and click on the Power Options icon;
- Now click on the Change option when the computer is suspended;
- Click on Change advanced power settings;
- Open the Suspend and Allow alarm clocks menu and click on Configuration;
- Leave the Activate option enabled, click apply and finally OK and do a test.

I've unchecked the Power Management in both the Mouse and Keyboard, also the Wireless Adapters.

The Windows Key + Q only gives me something to look up on the web. The only Power Options I can bring up here is when I change the Power & Sleep settings and there's nothing in there regarding Alarm clocks.

I did a search for Alarm clocks through the wee magnifying glass thingy on the Taskbar and brought it up I think. But if I'm in the right place, I see nothing about "Change Advanced Power Settings" ... maybe you should come back at this explaining where you're at and where I'm supposed to be at. :-)

My PC does NOT have that choice listed. How do I change time outs, etc?

Douglas, can you please clarify what you mean by suspend option? In fact, I do not see Additional Power Settings which is leaving me totally confused!
